About Us

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, from 6:30-7:45 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church (behind Kowalski's - 2 blocks north of Hwy. 5 off Eden Prairie Road on Luther Way).

At Troop meetings, we talk about future activities, teach advancement or camping skills, and much more! A typical Troop meeting is part of a monthly theme (such as Camping, Backpacking, Cooking, Orienteering, Sports, Engineering, Wilderness Survival, Biking, Canoeing, etc.). Related games, activities and skills are often included.

Troop 347 was founded in 1989 and is chartered by Immanuel Lutheran Church. (You do not have to be a church member or Lutheran to join.) We currently have 41 active registered Scouts, more than 30 parent volunteers, Order of the Arrow members, and over 100 Eagle Scouts. Entire families become active in Troop 347—more than 35 Scouts and 54 adults or other family members went to Voyager Bay camp this past summer! While most of the scouts are from Eden Prairie, there are several scouts who are from the surrounding areas. Troop 347 is run by the Scouts with assistance from adult Scouters. Many leadership positions are available for the Scouts in the troop. The advancement/leadership page explains many of these positions and their responsibilities. Every six months leadership positions are changed and Scouts vote for who they want to lead their troop in the highest ranking positions. Our adult leaders, both men and women ranging in age from 18 to 60+ are very active in our Troop and assist in many ways. We believe that when many do a little, few must do a lot! Troop 347 is unusual in that many women are also actively involved and hold leadership positions.
