Hunter's Eagle Project - August 9 and 10

Posted on Jul 24 2014 - 8:17pm

We will be building portable field desks for the DNR's School Forests. We have set a date of Saturday August 9th beginning at 11 AM ending at 5 PM and Sunday August 10th at 1 PM until finished to get the gloss coating and any other final touches done. Lunch will be provided. Please bring a filled water bottle to the project, though more water will be available there. Also bring protective eyewear and gloves. We will have some on hand but would like anyone who already has them to bring them.

Aluminum Can Recycling

Posted on Jun 19 2014 - 7:31pm

Aluminum can recycling (our trailer in the back of the church!)  is an easy way to put money in your scout accounts. Ask friends and neighbors to save some cans for you!  The trailer is half full right now and the going rate is around $.50 per pound.  Here's what to do....

1. Weigh each bag individually.  The clipboard with log, pen and yellow hand weigher is in the scout closet in the church hanging on the wall by the light switch.  Everyone should use the same scale.
2. Record your name and weight of cans legibly.
3. Empty all cans from bags into the trailer.
4. Take your garbage bags home and throw them away. ( a scout is clean!)
5. Return the clipboard to the scout closet.

That's it! Pretty easy!  Don't forget to take advantage of this.  Contact Mrs. Riegert at aluminum_cans@bsatroop347.org if you have any questions.
